I'm still new to truck problems since this is my first used truck, but I can usually diagnose simple problems. This problem has never happened to anyone I know.
-------
Truck Specs:
99 F150 XL / 5spd / 4.2L / 2x4 / 136k miles
-------
I was driving on the interstate and coming over an overpass, my truck suddenly lost power. I was in 5th gear and the truck just died. My oil pressure dropped to zero, my check engine light came on, power steering went out and I coasted to a stop on the side of the road.
I tried starting it and the engine turned over but wouldn't start... I left it alone for about 30 minutes and tried it again. It turned on fine so I drove it to a friends house nearby where it's sitting.
My guesses:
1. Fuel Pump
2. Clogged fuel filter
I need help ASAP and it will be greatly appreciated!
First you have to determine what it is lacking fuel or spark. To begin to pinpoint the problem. But on a wild guess if it is losing spark I would take a look at the crank sensor
Well when I tried starting it, it would turn on, but shake and die. That's when I realized it just wasn't getting enough fuel. Don't think it's the plugs, the current ones only have about 30k miles on them.

certainly couldn't hurt to change the fuel filter.
