I decided to add the SD mirrors from a 99 as the 08 mirrors are a bit much at 800 to 1200.
before i started i spent alot of time taking measurements and just looking at it to picture how it would look.
stock mirror removed
new mirror on with 3/16 steel plate and a frame of 1/8 rod for the fiberglass to go over.
view from drivers seat
front view
i have pics of the work in progress that i can post if anyone wants to see them.
if you can get that all cleaned up that will be the first time ive personally seen it, actually looks pretty good. if you can get the 08s used, i think it will look nasty!
Not trying to be a smart butt, or rain on your parade.. But from the pictures you posted it looks like there is going to be one heck of a blind spot, especially on the passenger side.

i've still got a bit to do but when i'm finnished it will look clean. and yes when the price of the 08 comes down i WILL be getting them.
here are some more pics of the work in progress.
we used the mirror as a guide to put the 1/8 rod in place for the fiberglass shell.
be careful to go weld slowly as to not warp the door. ataching 3/16 steel plate to the thin metal on the door it got hot. i am getting ready to do the fiberglass and will post more pics when i can. also as you can see i chose not to attach it to the window bar because if i ever have to change the main window i will have to move the bar.
Yep I agree you got talent it dose look ok . But the vent windows is the reason I like that style of truck. I take it OBS stands for old body style. When its raining you can have a vent window open and not get soaked LOL
