catalytic converter choices

Was looking for a replacement for catalytic converters on my '96 351 Bronco...and can only find the complete catalytic system (bolt-on) that is described as fitting the 5.0 Bronco.

forgive my ignorance, but would the same system fit the 351 (hence no separate system listed for the 351) or is there just not a comparable system offered for the 351 as this one:

First things first -- in what state are you trying to register it? If it's California, your options are sorely limited by CARB. If not, there are lots of aftermarket cats out there.

Should be able to grab any one of the aftermarket deals, then. Try looking at these:

I'd really like to get the bolt-on setup with both cats already in the Y-pipe for easier installation vs cutting/welding if possible. Is the same Y pipe setup used for the 351 as the 302? I've seen it (the Magnaflow) setup for the 302, but doesn't say if it fits the 351.

i run magnaflow, i dont think the 351 and 302 are the same but i could be wrong. you might find the price to be the same or even cheaper if youve got a good exhaust guy. just buy the replacement cats and have him cut the old and weld in the new

the 351w is wider so the y pipes are not interchangable. I would either locate a bassani Y pipe for a 95 5.8 and just get another cat added down stream OR locate a very well known exhaust shop and have them make you a new y pipe. I went this route on my 94 since it was actually cheaper then the bassani Y and was just as good in my opinion.

since you have a 5.8 going with a 2.5" diam Y would be advised then go 3" from there out. will really wake up the rig.

You might check FSB. Somebody found a Bassani Y-pipe in a JY about 3 weeks ago and was trying to sell it. I think it was bigredkacy or jasoncarpenter1 (he has an FTE account, too).
