Two fields. How fast have you gone in an FE? and how fast have you gone period?
Sad to say I have not had the pleasure of owning a car with an FE (yet), it's been all trucks here. So I have only been about 105mph in the truck, which IMO is fast enough in that big ol beast lol.
The fastest I've ever been was 184mph in a buddys T/A while racing another friend on a GSX R bike. It was a great feeling to hear him rev limit out at 176mph and to walk away. Wish it had been in a Ford but speed is speed.
A friend of mines dad has a 04 Mustang Cobra (convertible lol) pushing about 750hp that would most likely out run the T/A but without some type of body kit to keep it on the ground it wants to take flight at 157mph lol.
155 in a Grand Prix with 455 in high school....racing a GTO and under the influence. The road made the suspension really "creepy" at speed but we smoked him. I hated not having the wheel...heck I can't stand to not have it now. I'M DRIVING.
Top speed with a FE is currently 30 mph driving my F250 home from a block away from my house. Yep a whopping 30 friggin mph.
Hmmm, about 600 mph...............in a DC-10 lol, in an FE? About 90 mph or close, the valves were floating, racing my '73 360 vs a bud's '69 360, deadheat, real dumb teenager ****
I find the fun with an FE is seeing how fast you can get to a certain speed, not how high a speed you can get.
I did manage 112 mph with my FE, but it was accidental as I wasn't watching the speedometer. Usually, I stay under 90 when playing around. Most of the time I stick close to the speed limit.
With an FE? Well, the F250 runs out of "umph" around 70 and don't feel like pushing the old girl faster than that
I took my 90 Mustang with the T5 and the 3.08 rear end up to about 140mph one time on a long straight stretch of open highway at night. When the front end started to get feel light I wimped out and had to lift. As I remember, I still hadn't shifted into 5th
500+ in the company Lear 45 during the pre-purchase demo flight.
Mach 1.2 in an F105F fighter.
610 mph in a F111 Bomber.
138+ mph in a tunnel boat.
144 mph clocked by the CHP but had a 1000 RPM left (tach had been there before), 1969 Ford Cobra (Torino Fastback with 428CJ with Ram Air.
Sleepy, I'd like you to start another thread and limit it to FE powered Ford trucks. I knew as soon as I saw the title the BS was gonna be stacked real high, & I haven't been disappointed so far.
All of us has "and are" going 490,000 mph. That is the speed of our Solar system going around our Galaxy. Add and subtract 33,000 mph to that of which earth is traveling around the sun. Speed of galaxy is unknown going through our universe, most approximate at 300,000 mph. Passenger

John
We can sum that thread up here: between 90 and 100 mph because thats all you gonna get outta 99% of FE powered trucks

even with a good engine that could handle 6500rpms and with 2.73 rear gears, I wouldn't trust many 60's 70's ford trucks much over 85 anyhow, just personal preference.
