Hi, I am new here. I am having a HARD time locating the DPFE pressure sensor under the hood. I have a 1993 F150. The codes i received told me i need to replace this, but cannot locate the part under the hood. I already bought the NEW part , and still cannot find anything that resembles it under the hood.
i got a code 84 .. going back out now to re test to see what exactly the code said.. but this is the part i was told i needed. I already bought and replaced the part you showed. Now i was told this was the part i needed.

No you do not have one of those.
Ford's either have the EVP or the DPFE pressure sensor but not both.
Our era of F-series trucks do not have the DPFE pressure sensor until 1996 except in California.
THANKS ALOT!!! i just returned that part back to Autozone.... after talkign to ANOTHER person.they suggest it might just be a vacuum line leak. possibly the plastic line going from the vaccum hose from egr valve.to the port on the manifold.might be cracked..
If the code was an 84 that is an electrical fault in the EVR circuit.
Could be a bad EVR solenoid or the wires between the computer and the EVR solenoid.
DTC 84 indicates a failure in the EGR Vacuum Regulator (EVR) solenoid circuit.
Possible causes:
-- Damaged EVR solenoid
-- Open harness
-- Shorted harness
-- Damaged Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
I do not know where you got that an 84 was insufficient pressure but DTC 84 is an error in the KOEO electrical hard codes only and has to do with the EVR electrical circuit.
If you would tell us what engine you have we can tell you where it is.
Here is a page From the 1983 Ford shop manual for code 84:
ok.. the vacuum line from the egr valve comes off and then connects to another line itslef.that then goes back behind the manifold..then up to the top of manifold into a port that has about 4 diff. lines to it... if needed i can take a picture and show you under MY hood ( if that would help)
The "4 diff. lines to it..." is called the vacuum tree and screws into the upper intake manifold.
That is the source of the vacuum going to the vacuum can over on the passenger fender. The vacuum can supplies the vacuum for the EVR solenoid and the other two solenoids beside it.
I like pictures, if you can not post them email them to me, email address at the bottom of post.
The green line should not connect to anything but the EGR valve and the EVR solenoid.
ok just sent you a picture of the egr valve..and the green line off of it, If you notice the green line off the valve.connecting to 2 other lines.then THAT set runs back behind manifold.then up around and plugs into that tree port... i never see that green line itself going to anything else.
Yes I got it but it looks like the green line goes into a covering that may house the red vacuum line form the vacuum tree to the vacuum tank and a black line from the vacuum tank to the EGR, TAB & TAD solenoids. There should be no connection between the red, black & green vacuum lines.
