I have some question about a Aeroforce Gauge i got used. dose it read the trans temp right, should i trust it? and the boost will only go to 11psi when getting on it hard is that right or is it not reading right.
As I understand the ScanGuage should be accurate as it is interpreting the electrical value from the PCM as seen by the temp sender in the pan, and the MAP sensor. If both sensors are operating correctly then it will be accurate, if they are not they are still accurate as to what the PCM is seeing. Which is why some like analog gauges as a supplement, do you have AE? You could compare the values against it to see if there is an issue with the gauge or if you have other issues.
i dont have a boost gauge and no fooler. i just did not wont to brake something thinking i had a real reading and it not be. i guess i will have to get a trans cooler now pulling 5000lbs in town i can get to 185 but it is 100 outside.
I have a trans cooler installed and still see 180 empty in this 100 degree weather, if that helps any? I'm not sure of the locations on some of those 140 degree pulling 16K claims, maybe with ambient temps in the 60's.
Alot of the research I did looking for temp comparisons, was you should be around 70-80 degrees over ambient, Mark K stated that the trans is fine all day long at 220F but no more than 30 minutes at 250F, besides, my first cooler is the OTW cooler so I don't see how it could cool that much in 2 more coolers when it is within hot coolant? Maybe I'm wrong and my trans will blow tonight on my drive home, least I'm only 1.5 hours from BTS, but my temps at night(been getting down around 80!) my trans stays 145ish.
I may add that trans temps will be higher as read by the Scangauge as compared to a gauge with sender in the test port due to the different locations of the sensor/sender. The TFT sensor is in the Shift Solenoid VB and mine reads 15-20* higher, but still stays below 180* empty at 100* ambient.
