So, I'm pulling into a parking lot last night and as I'm backing into a space I see a trail of liquid following in my tracks. Coolant is leaking in a small trickle, but oddly to me it looks like it's coming from back behind the motor. Heater lines are dry and I'm confused. Fortunately there's soon a large puddle under the truck, so I at least know I didn't drive 8 miles down the freeway with this leak. I had the truck towed home with visions of a blown freeze plug repair at the rear of the block in my mind.
This morning I put water in the radiator & crawl under the truck to see where it's leaking. To my surprise it's coming from a rubber tranny cooler line. I'd always assumed it had a cooler in the radiator for the tranny fluid. I've never heard of a water cooler at the transmission. I sure was relieved to only have to buy a foot of heater hose, 2 hose clamps and some antifreeze to get it back on the road again!
That is lucky just got my fathers truck going today (It's his birthday present) two years ago my brother was driving it around and the fuel line cracked and it caught on fire lucky where it happened there was a guy watering his lawn and the got it put out fast. So It only needed the wiring, carb, distributor cap, plug wires and air cleaner.
