clutch adjustment
I replaced the flywheel and clutch on my 360/3-speed 68 ford f-100. After pulling out of the drive I heard a noise coming from the bellhousing area. When I push the clutch pedal in an inch or so it goes away. I have about 5 inches before the clutch is disengaged. Could I just tighten up the linkage till the noise ceases or is something else going on?

i hope you replaced and lubed your pilot bushing. its a doughnut shaped part that presses into block. your trans. input shaft rides in it. you can adjust your clutch by turning the pivot rod at your clutch fork in or out until desired clearance. measure from bottom of steering wheel to clutch pedal. i think the free play is 1/2 inch . not real sure , you can tell when its right.
