Any reason this would not be a good way to go for a 1990 7.3?

you can use it but dont with it with what you already have in the cooling system. youll want to flush the system and start new. that coolent should already have the DCA precharge in it. in your other pose 250 left ya a list of links, read the one about cavitation. thats got lots of important coolent info in it
