bfg at is kind of a soft tire, and ive heard they where down fast on pavement. if you do alot of pavement driving you could go with bfg's commercial tires. they're offerd in ribed and traction tread patterns. and they are TOUGH tires.
I need tires before winter comes. I've considered the all terrains because they offer great traction. Almost takes the fun out of it when you want to have fun. hahaha My only complaint is that they do wear pretty quickly. I've had several sets on previous trucks back to before the KO model came out. Imay still go ahead and get them, but I'm definately shopping harder this go round. I like the coopers also.
I had the BFG's on my S10 and they went 125,000kms before they needed to be swapped out. I obviously don't expect them to last anywhere near as long on the Much much heavier 350.
I have bfg's if you want a soft compound there the way to go, if it's miles go with Cooper/pro comp pro comp has a 36k tread ware warranty! My last e range bfg ko's went 12k and were at the bars, I'm running the 111t's now super soft and loud, but in lucky to get 8k out of them but I need the traction so it's a trade off, back on topic the 305/70r-17's look awesome on and I think they will fit with no mods on your truck!

I can get the BFG AT installed and balanced and local tires shop for $950 out the door. I am stubborn in my ways and I want nothing but BFG AT's. I just love the way they look, and they get nothing but great reviews.
My dad is the same way and over the years has had half a dozen sets on his SDs. I didn't get them on my truck the last time I got tires and regret it. Can't go wrong with them IMO.
Try 1500$ mines a drw and no I don't drive it crazy it's my tow rig, that's just what they last in E range too soft for much durability I will not be using them in E range again going back to Cooper/pro comp at least I'll get the tread ware warranty to 36k and better ride, plus made in USA not Brazil or China or wherever there made now!
Goo luck trying to collect on any kind of warrenty with Cooper/Dick Cepek/Mickey Thompson and etc. Been there and it was a PITA. Just because a tire is made in US doesn't mean its good.
Never had a problem dealing with Cooper tire since 1988 only great service and good product, putting them on fleet for years, can't say the same for goodrich but the tire I need for compound unfortunately is only made by them;(;(;(

Sounds to me like you may have to re-evaluate what exactly you want out of your tires.
So, when you're ready to have a real discussion about the subject, instead of just looking for people to agree that you're making the right decision with the BFG's, take a look around the forum. There are plenty of threads about tires, and plenty of people here with a LOT of tire experience that would be more than willing to give you advice.
Over the last 15 years, I went through the same thing with my Jeep; buying tires based more on their looks than their performance. Overall, I spent a lot of money to look cool. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing. Hey, it's my money, I can do what you want with it. And those junk Thornbirds really did look awesome.
The fact is, from the first set I drove on in 1987, I've owned more than a few sets of BFG's, including several sets of both AT's and MT's on various rigs. And although I've had a few issues with them over the years, overall I've been happy with the AT's. I just wouldn't put them on my Super Duty. There's better tires out there for this particular application.
Of course, if the BFG's have that certain look you just can't live without, go for it. Smiling every time you look at your truck is worth something. Just don't expect them to be something they're not.
My god people are really putting words into my mouth with this thread. I am not looking for people to agree with me, I am looking for peoples thoughts who have these tires; good, bad, whatever. I do serious research before buying something and the BFG AT seams to get very high reviews from tire rack, as well as from my local tire guy. Now that I know they are a decent tire I am looking for some real world experience with them, plain and simple. And if the 12k wear life is real world, I am glad I submitted this post, and will definitely not be buying these tires.
I have to chime in. If you are only getting 12 grand on a set of BFG's then there is something wrong. I have been running BFG's for 20 years. My old 02 F250 S/C 2wd with a 6" lift and 315/75-16 BFG A/T's went 40,000 miles on a set. My last lifted 07 F150 SuperCrew was at 25000 miles on the 305/65-18's when I sold it and they still had 50% left on them. I just bought a 02 F350 C/C S/B and did a 6" FabTech lift with another set of 315/75-16's on Weld Outbacks. All of my tires are E rated. I keep my junk aligned, pressure adjusted to load and rotate them every 5000 miles. These tires last if you take care of them, you can't just throw them on and forget about them. Also keep in mind my trucks are I beam and those wear tires worse than 4x's. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Apples to apples you can't compare 2wd and f 150's with what these trucks do to tires.

I think you meant apples to oranges. And I knew someone would say its only a F150, lol. It was just an example I threw in. Now I'm curious as to why you would say a F250 4wd will chew up tires faster than a 2wd in the same configuration?
