I am at a loss here and i'm looking for suggestions, I purchased a new 2010 F250 XLT 5.4, in august of last year, since then the truck has been nothing but problems. So far the truck has had replaced the alarm system, ignition module, instrument cluster, the cats, and a transfer case motor, and to top it all off, now I need another instrument cluster.
The first electrical problems as well as the transfer case motor, say that there was a "short" some where. And now once again they are telling me I need a new cluster do to a short in the one that I just had put in about 7 months ago.
The dealership has not offered any help or suggestions as to what I can do, the truck has been in the shop for about 30 days, in the past 9 months. And I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how I can deal with my situation.
Sounds like you got a lemon my man. I have an 09 Superduty with the 5.4 and its been great so far. What do you mean "transfer case motor"?. I got a stripped XL model because I wanted as little bells and whistles as possible and the less electronics the better IMO. I have not heard of the problems that you are experiencing in any of these trucks. You probably got a truck that was built on a friday 1 hour before the end of the day and everyone was in a hurry.
Wow Dude, That sucks...Sounds like a lemon to me also!!
I'm ready to rip someones giblets off at Ford because of a little rust on my 2010 front bumper!! Couldn't imagine keeping under control with the problems you are having.
ya, trust me its been a rollercoaster, when I bought the truck I loved it, then it started to have problems and I kept my cool until the service writers started jerking me around at the dealership, then I would walk in there and lay into the first one I saw. It was the only way to deal with those people. Now I'm back in the same situation, with no one caring about the truck, all they want to do is throw more parts at it and hope it works.
You'd need to research your own states lemon laws, in general from what I remember it needs to be in the shop for the same problem 3 times in the first year and/or 30+ business days in the shop. You'll need to talk with some one a little higher in the food chain than anyone at the dealer, at least a regional rep.
