67 390 piston rings ???

hi all trying to find a rering kit for 67 tbird 390 i guess this is like a one /two year size ring ? both top rings 5/64 instead of 5/64 and 3/32 ??

should i just get after market pistons and be done with it ? was hopeing to not spend the xtra $$

Stock '67 Tbird motor will be a 10.1 or 10.5 CR. That what you want?

2bbl regular fuel pistons will get you into the 9s. Similar to if not the same as 360 pickup pistons.

10.1 0R 10.5 ? REALLY? i read up on tbird 390 in thought 9.5 was highest for 67
pistons i have have a combustion height of 1.76 with eye brows and center dish .
guess i am doing more reading tonight to make sure .

10.5 confirmed , guess i am getting the larger dished eyebrows to drop into the 9.?

just read some more tbirds also came with 2 barrels , i know the4 barrel intake is not the factory one so there's a chance i have 9.5 cr
can anyone identify my piston to a 4 barrel or 2 barrel ?

That looks to me like the 2bbl pistons in that block. which would be about 9.5 to 1 If I remember correctly.
The large circle in the center of the pistons is not there on the 4bbl pistons. They
just have the 4 valve eyebrow reliefs.

From the serving size of those "teacups", I'd venture to guess they are the lower CR version.

2v pistons. The 4v are flat tops with valve reliefs.

so i can get the flat tops with eyebrows and end up at 10.1 cr
or get the dished eyebrow 360 pistons and end up at 9.5 cr
just have to verify ch height and skirts . more research

1960s FE info:

FE Cylinder Head I.D. and Application Chart

The 2bbl regular fuel 390 was 9.5. We had one in our '66 Country Squire.
