V10 Stalling and Auto Enginuity
2002 V10 72k, starts fine, runs fine, occassionally misfires and will stall at idle.
So far.
Replace boots
Replaced Air Filter
Tested resistance in all coil packs all within value
CODE P0720 - OSS (replaced, knew it wasn't it but...)
Seafoamed truck (very anticlimatic)
Cleaned MAS
Headed to clean IAC next.
Still has the original plugs, any reason to change them yet?
Does the IAC have a function when engine is at temperature?
Getting ready to bite the bullet on AE.
Can anyone point me to a review? or have first hand experience with AE? I STFF and couldn't find anything.
I'm about 90% convinced it's a bad COP, but I'm not about to buy 10 of them on I think. Also not inclined to switch each COP with a known good one. I'm hoping the AE will show misfires and pending codes.
Yeah, it's the wife Excursion, it makes it that much worse....

I know this sounds crazy but check the Cat converter, if you get under it and hit with your hand and its sounds like its "loose or broken pieces" inside than thats your problema piec of the cat has come loose and is clogging your muffler. I had this exact problem with my mustang.
It would start, run, then die. i was at a complete loss It was a nightmare to figure out.....the friggin dealer couldnt even figure it out! FINALLY we figured it out .....
anyway good luck

I had a recent stalling while on idle and only when hot. I took out the iac and cleaned it. I had one or two more stalls after cleaning iac, and changed the tune back to stock. No more issues. I ran the perfect tune on my way home and all well. This was while on holidays. I had my AE but did not scan, but used the tuner to check and there were no stored codes during stalling.
I do use my AE and it will show u the misfires and on what cylinder, among the other things it does, plus you can use it for your other vehicles with other vehicle add ons to the AE.
Be sure to unhook the battery for a bit to reset computer after all the cleaning to have it relearn strategies with the clean parts.
When I took out the iac I found it easier to take the throttle body off to get at the iac. Way easier, and only took 45 min to take off, clean and throw back together.

I just checked it with the tuner for codes and it didnt read any, but it only reads the generic ones. I still want to read with AE and see if it has anything stored for it. Maybe tomorrow as I have to charge the notebook.

Cryo Powerslots with Hawk Pads
They work great! Big improvement and no more brake pulsing. Only downside is the Cryo Powerslots are pricey for the 2wd since they basicly include the rotor and hub.

Before I replaced to cryo I stepped into the brakes with my whole weight while holding onto the wheel for more leverage and on a wet road could not get the abs to lock in. I figured if I couldn't do that the wife had no chance to stop in time. Huge improvement and I feel confident the wife would have no issues now.

Finally got me AE. Plugged it in, I showed misfires in cylinder 6. About 20 minutes ago, I replaced the COP #6, monitored for about 30 minutes no misfires.
I watched the IAC open and close with AE, I guess if it doesn't "'stick" it's working?
Cleared CEL and hasn't thrown a code yet....
NOW, my '05 6.0 must be jealous. Left me stranded at work. Won't start.
B1342 ECU fault. This is a body code so, I don't know if it has anything to do with my no start. Guesses?
Thanks for the input on the Hawks, I'll do that next on my '02 V10.
