Hard Decision
Hard Decision
Well friends the current condition of the economy and the fact that price of gas and the amount of travel i am forced to do has greatly increased from a reasonable level has all come to ahead and made me make a hard decision as for what is going to help reduce some of the financial strain from my budget. In doing so the ultimate sacrifice was made and i traded my truck off for a more gas friendly alternative to transportation. While i love my truck when you live off a budget of only 1500 dollars a month and are spending 250 dollars in commute expenses my truck was beginning to become a burden. while i will always be a member of ford-trucks.com i just can't in good conscious drive a truck while i was having to decide between food for my family or gas. However I have still maintained my brand loyalty because the new DD is a 1996 ford mustang V6/5speed. I am netting about 26-28mpg on the hwy which is a huge weight lifted off my back. Now i can re-cooperate from the two surgeries i have had and start getting back on the right financial path. Thanks for all the info and help and your continued friendship. Not trying to get to personal on the forum knowing that the last time i got personal and mentioned my deceased children it was frowned upon however figured you guys deserved an explanation on why i no longer had my ford truck.
The important thing is you have your priorities straight! Family comes first........and you still own a Ford. That's a "win-win".
I know what you mean about the economy & gas prices. My wife lost her job and I had my salary cut by about 30%. I commute 100 miles per day to work and had to quit driving my truck. I started driving my '04 Mustang GT since I can pull about 26MPG if I drive nice. I was trying to keep the miles down on the Mustang, just in case I have to sell it to make ends meet. I also have a '93 Festiva that I'm in the process of putting a new engine in. Before the original engine gave out, I was averaging about 48 MPG from it. Congrats on the new Mustang....my only complaint is that mine's a little hard to get in & out of for an old fat man like me!
