F.Y.I. the v10 weighs just about the same as the old 5.0s, so it's not some overly large engine. The most difficult parts of the swap are the width of the v10 and the height. I'll post the specs tomorrow as I have 2 v10s in my garage and don't want to put my shoes back on tonight.
I saw a ford capri or pictures of one with a V10 in it. My buddy has the link or did. he is the one that found it. I will see if he still has the link or can find it again. the capri is like the 79 and up mustang car.
Darn, that used to be his homepage. He was some Joe Dirt looking guy from the east coast. He had plans to twin turbo his v10 by putting the exhaust manifolds on backwards. I'll see if I can contact him through modfords. Sorry guys.
Where would be a good place to find the dimensions on the v10 and also the zf 6spd. I've been looking for a replacement motor for my truck (1989 f250 4x4) and would like to atleast consider the possiblity of putting a v10 in it before i spend the money on a remain 351. also the local salavage yards seem to have a couple low mile 200ish models laying around for not to much more than a qualty rebuild.
thanks
Larry
For $4,000-$8,000 you can buy a Ford Motorsports 514 big block, or a 450+ cu inch small block 5.0 that will make 400-600+hp out of the box. It will also bolt right in your F-250 and you tranny. You will spend triple that to convert a V-10 and have less, why do it ? If you're one of those guys who love that kind of challenge more power to ya. I do not have that kind of patience or those engineering skills needed. With the overabundance of good crate engines out nowadays that are built with correct parts and the cheap prices it's almost cheaper to replace rather than rebuild. Check into it, you may be surprised, Ken
