What size (thread/dia.) fumoto valves did you get for the block drain plugs?

so some of you guys arnt filtering coolant unless the heater is on
didnt you notice the lines were not hot when the heater was off this is also how you check for a plugged filter
BTW thats the heater supply line you tye into thats why the valve is there so it dont have hot coolant in it when the A/C is on

you MUST put it BEFORE the heater valve then it filters at all times not just in the winter months

for those of you that tyed in after the heater valve just get a pecks connection at the hardware store splice it back together and get it tyed back in before the valve

I didnt like any of the kits other than they look fancy I never reduced the return line I dumped it back in under the coolant bottle keeped the lines the same size and just drill the filter out to 3/8inch hopefully Im filtering twice the coolant

Thanks for all fo the replys. Sorry it took so long to get back to the thread, I had to go feed the cows. Yes I used the F108N fumoto valves. I put some 3/8" hose on both of them and permanently wraped them both around to the front of the sump on the oil pan so that I could drain them both into the same container. It took me about 4 flushings before I was satisfied that the distilled water coming out was clean enough. I had to remove the starter on the right side to install the fumoto valve. After installing the valves, the next time I drained the flush out. I drained the radiator and right side only, after they had stoped dripping I drained the right side. I could reach it by just reaching in front of the starter, and almost a gallon of water came out. It is definitely important to drain both sides of the block! I checked the valve and it is close only in two positions, the max ac and off. I installed my tee before the valve however the sinsister kit made the line so that it would fit perfectly after the valve next to the fire wall. .

How often do you guys change the filter I have heard after the first 1000 miles then 5000 miles than once a year. Does that sound right?

With engine up to temp. put your left hand on the inlet heater hose and your right hand on the small return hose. When there is a temp. diff. the filter is plugging.

This is a pic of my origonal install. It was wrong because the filter was T'd in Behind the heater control valve. coolant would only flow through filter when heater valve was open. It did look nice though:

Close-up of T Behind heater valve (Wrong Place, don't put yours here)

This is a pic after I fixed it. T is BEFORE the heater valve. Anywhere between the end of the hardline and the valve will work. (vacume line for heater valve shouldn't be laying on turbo like that):

And here is a pic of the T on the small line back to the degas bottle:

Sorry for the confusion-my bad. Hope that helps!
