Please help me fix my frame

Hello folks.
I stopped driving my truck because I needed to rebuild my carb, fab a shroud and fix my frame once and for all.
My carb has been"rebuilt" but it is worse now than before I took it in.long story.
I bought an f1 frame and I would love to use it but I think I will use it when I have a real motor and money to get a proper IFS etc (excuses)
I decided that Its easier to fix my existing frame than transferring the whole enchilada to the unmolested frame.
I will get some C channel from another frame I have, this frame rails are the same thickness, and dimensions as my f1 frame.
I need to fab some c notch or step notch the proper way.
I was thinking that I could cut it with my plasma or I could have it cut proffesionally.
I need to know what kind of metal plate I need and what thickness.
Also I need to know how to properly weld it.
I am making the cuts and prepping the frame and I will tack it in place and have a pro weld it,
I need to know how to cut the frame and how to make the fish plates etc.
this is my mess right now:

Yep, it’s a mess.

I am not a prude, far from it, but your unnecessary use of profanity, other then probably showing your age, doesn’t encourage my limited assistance, sorry, go to the HAMB if you want to be rude, they’ll love you.

here is some drawings of What i think i need to do.
1st drawing is what I have and what i need to fix.
2nd drawing shows that I have the option of making a step notch.
I would fab or have the step notch fabb'ed out of some thick material.I dont know the dimensions yet but thats where you come in.
3rd drawing shows that I could fab or have the C notch fabb'ed.
The step notch would be fully boxed and I would be cutting my f1 frame right before the factory"kick up" so I have a straight line to work from.
Opinions welcome.

Umm. what made you decide that? You go on to say you basically don't have any clue what your doing and would like somebody to give you 20+ years of fabrication skills in 500 words or less.
You would really be better off swapping the frames now, stay within your capabilities. It's the ol' "throwing money and time away" thing. Move in positive, forward steps or the truck will never get back together. Just sayin...
And you said you were DRIVING that?

I think it would be a huge waste of time and money to redo that.....since you are going to switch the frame anyway. I would direct your energy toward the good frame.......

Is there any way you could gusset/ brace that up and make it safer? I'm guessing it had bags at one time? Never ceases to amaze me what some "builders" will do....

I think it would be relatively cheap to have someone in a shop fab something up quickly, with trustworthy welds. Your First Choice would be easy to do for someone with a plasma torch, 3/16" plate, jigs, and a stick welder.

Thanks Ross that is the info I wanted to hear.
So I will be buying a bunch of 3/16 plate,Originally I was going to use 1/4 inch but I thought it would be overkill.
Do I need cold steel or do i need a special kind of plate.
I just got my bro a 220 lincoln stick welder and hes got about 15 years exp.
I wasnt sure about the thickness of the plate.

I have a volare currently and I dont want it near my other frame, fixing this frame is my best choice.
I am saving money for a dropped axle and a flattie.

I dont want the 20 year old volare in my unmolested frame,I want to do that frame right with a dropped axle unless I find a better IFS.
I have a clue of what I am going to do.
I did drive that for some time always in town,6 miles a day tops, never over 40 MPH blabla bla

my brother and I lowered that stepnotch and fishplated every seam, its not pretty but it works.
I am sure I can buy the materials for less than 300 bucks

It would not be that easy,I realized I dont want to keep the volare,I dont want to hack my other frame.
By the time I start working on myother frame I should have finished a Comunity college welding program.

No problem. I just thought since you had another frame, you could start prepping that one, and then just switch the body over, and get back to driving it.
