Charging Problem?

Everytime I come to a complete stop the volt guage in my instrument cluster drops quite a bit. While driving it is up around the "L" in normal and when I stop it drops to about the "R". It seems to be charging fine and I have not had any problems with starting or anything. Is this something I should be concerned with?

I don't know about a '93, but my '80 did something like that, and it was the voltage regulator. Go to a parts store and have them test your alternator/regulator.

Sounds like your voltage regulator may be going out, or you have a loose ground or bad battery terminals.

You might only have a 75 amp alternator in there. I replaced my alternator once and accidentally put in a 75 amp instead of a 100 or 95(dont remember) that comes factory. There will always be a slight movement in the needle due to idle and the A/C, fan, headlights, etc.... But movement from the N to the M is a bit much. Mine at an idle and no other electrical devices on will move from the high side of M down to the middle of R and M. If that all makes any sense.
