tcase problems?

I have an 88 bronco eddie bauer with a NP 208 tcase. I can't shift into 4wd. The manual hubs are locked and the linkage moves but the shifter doesn't stop at 4hi, or a neutral or 4lo when my tranny is in neutral. I can spin the drive shaft and hear fluid turning, but no four wheel drive. Can someone help?

Get under it on the driver's side and see if the shifter is still connected to the t-case.

Then you have a big problem inside the t-case. A replacement will probably be cheaper & quicker than a repair, and then you'd have all the time you need to tear that one down and fix it as a spare for next time.
