My truck is stock, running fine. recently replaced ICP sensor (oil press. @ rail)
no oil leaks except small amount @ low press. oil (will try to replace pump soon) The concern I have is the truck seems to need to crank longer than usual
(nothing too bad yet) and fuel mileage is lower than past summers by about 2.
About 210,000 on ticker, running additive. Wondering if rebuilding HPOP is an
option (checked for kits haven't found any yet) or if I need injectors.I would rather go hpop route for cost reasons, but just asking for any ideas
Thanks, Jeff
Will check thread this aft. will be gone all day.
Replacing the LPOP has been known to aid in start up. If you have leaks in that area, I would replace it first. It would be the least expensive option and may be the answer to your problem. Can't hurt.

I agree. I may be doing my LPOP soon as well, as it is very oily on the front of the engine. (Not dripping, but it's covered.) I need to get in there and clean it up and confirm where it's leaking from... but If I do have to do it, I will use the aftermarket "Melling" I think.
Yes, I will be doing that for sure, hope I don't need special bal. puller for the job. Would
I be correct in assuming the rad. needs to be pulled. Also I have the fan wrench for a
95, I hope it's the same. For the 2nd part of my Q, is there a rebuild kit for HPOP or is new the only option.
Sorry, just looked @ melling install, would be nice to have that longer bolt for the crank before starting the job. As always, gents, thanks for the help.
Jeff
I used the harm bala bolt to press the pulley back on, only need a thinner washer. Many have done it this way and been successful. Actually haven't heard anyone say it didn't work. Also no banging required.
Sorry for the delay, daughters in softball, takes a lot of my time. I will take the advise
thanks a bunch. Also if I can find this thread again after I will post results
