Last weekend on my way to the lake it acted like it was out of fuel. Had it towed to my fathers, where it sat for two days. Replaced cps on the first day(never tried to start it though). On the second day it started, pulled my camper and boat home. When I got home i pulled off the pass. side valve cover and found the glow plug pins melted. i replaced the glow plugs and harness and gasket on that side. Now two days ago my wife was driving home from work when it died (acted like it ran out of fuel she said). The last two days I've r&r driverside harness and gasket, replaced glow plugs and r&r fuel pump. Cleaned bowl and screen on fpr, changed blue hoses, removed heater wire from bowl. Still no start! Unplugged icp nothing! checked all fuses. There GOOD... I blew through the fuel line that I disconnected from the fpr and they where clear! Tach isn't consistance when i turn it over. Could the cps be bad again??? Also made sure the hpop had oil in it. Sorry for the long paragraph. BUT I'M AT MY WITS END!!!!Thanks in advance. Randy in Texas
I over read the pump replacement....Do you have the WTS light? If no then replace the #22 maxi fuse (even if it looks good) and unplug the fuel bowl heater and try that.
did you visually check the fuses, or check them with a meter?
it is possible the fuel bowl heater shorted out.
fuses need to be meter tested. they can look good, but still be bad
I've replaced the #22 fuse this morning, batteries have been charged. TACH is not moving. Bought the tach at International. Switched tanks no luck. There isn't a CEL on (don't even know if this yr has one).
