No one ever got back to me and I wasn't finding anything on this site either on my water pump pully problem. I took my water pump back to the parts store and made them get every water pump they had for a 302. Believe it or not they had five different water pumps. The particular one I needed there are two types. The dimentions are the exact same, except for the mounting holes for the pully and clutch fan. Further inspection revealed that the reason my pully would not clear the crank pully was ; the two water pumps are basically built 180 degrees of each other. The one I had from bottom of pump to center of impeller shaft was short and top to center of impeller shaft was tall, plus bolt holes were wrong. The one I needed was short on top tall on bottom, and the bolt holes were right. Any of you guys out there building a 302 of any type, watch out on the water pumps, there are a wide range to choose from. Most of them the dimentios will be the same with slight variations barely noticable at a glance. Hope this information will help others. Ya'll take care, until then, later. sgtgoodman
