2011 4X2

I have a 2000 F150 4X2 and it sits high like a 4X4. Does ford still offer a 4x2 these days which sits high like a 4X4? If so how is it identified? The 4X2s I have seen on the road (2011) seem to ride low.

The 2009-2011 model trucks (both 2wd and 4wd) sit taller than the 2004-2008 model trucks. The 4wd trucks have bigger tires and taller suspension, but not my much. My 2010 2wd sits taller than the 4wd 2004-2008 models. A lot of people with 2wd trucks are putting oversized tires and maybe a front spacer lift to level the front of the truck. If you did that to a 2wd truck, you would have a hard time telling from a distance that it is a 2wd truck other than the lack of 4x4 or FX4 decals.

This is my next big mod for my FX2 in another 6 months/1 year - 2" front lift with 33s x 12s all around on my stock FX2 20" wheels. Just have to save up the $$.

I am actually just the opposite. I don't like lifted vehicles unless you are using that lift off road. I like trucks that sit almost level with a slightly kicked up rear end. The stock suspension really has the rear end sitting tall. I may eventually put a 1-2" drop shackle on the rear end. To each his own which is why I suggested to the OP lifting the front end to level the truck. I think your truck will look good when you mod it, just not what I would do to my truck.

I certainly understand what your saying. I do use it off road. Wish I had gotten 4wd but too late now.
