Quick water-pump questions...

Hi all, 2 quick questions regarding water pump and fan clutch parts for our trucks:

1) Any idea where I can buy new water pump mounting bolts? I do not think they come with the pump, and I want new ones. I remember my thermostat housing bolts were pretty crusty.

2) Were fan clutch part numbers different for A/C versus Non-A/C trucks? I ask because RockAuto lists a Motorcraft fan clutch for my truck, but also describes it as "No A/C". The other fan clutch brands make no distinction between A/C status, so I believe there is only one kind of fan clutch, and this "No A/C" is just an artifact of product listing standardization or whatnot. But I thought I'd check.

Thanks!

I changed my water pump out a couple of months ago, and was pleasantly surprised at what good shape the water pump bolts were in. However, I managed to lose one in the process, and was able to find an exact replacement at my local Ace Hardware.

Hardware store, ok then, thanks. I'll be sure to seek out the lowest-grade no-name chinese soft-metal bolts they have (joke).

Looking at the pump sitting here on the bench waiting to have its portrait taken for my fastener document, I see that all the bolts are Grade 5, but they vary all over the map on length and type of head. Need a picture?

Grade 5, that is helpful. Thank you for the offer of a picture, but without knowing the sizes it wouldn't help much. I was hoping to source all the bolts as new before beginning the pump replacement, so I didn't have to take them all to fastener store in the middle of the job to look for replacements. That's why I was hoping someplace just sold them as a specific set, no mix and match required. But that doesn't seem to be case. Anyways, thank you.

Do they really? On my truck ('80 F-150, 300-6) there were four bolts holding the pump on. Three of them were identical, and one (which also holds the A/C bracket on) was about a half inch longer. Maybe someone played mix-n-match with your bolts some time in the past?

DUHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! Read, Gary READ. Take your time. Find out the facts. THEN respond.

I guess I assumed everyone has a 5.8L. And, that's where the pump came from. May not fit a 4.9L, huh?

Ok, I'll get back in my cage. Sorry. And, Dorsai, thanks for pointing it out in such a low key way.
