Has anyone had experience in using bucket seats from a Ford Explorer 1997. I bought a decent pair, all electric and leather and want to put them in my 72 F100. It looks like the rear mounting feet could work with new holes in the pan, but the fronts bend down 90 degrees. The feet are rivited in to the slider rail for the seats. I can take pictures, but right now the battery is dead.
few options i could think of would be bend the tab so you can bolt it (make sure you use large washers to spread the load front and back) make a L braket. what i did is ditch the seats slides (how often are the seats going to be anything but all the way back?) and build a square frame on the stock truck sliders and bolt the seats to that and make a center console for the center. this is what i did with my 2 dr and Dodge Dakota seats.
its actually pretty simple i used a set of seats out of a range (same mount pattern) you nee some 1 inch box tubing for the front mounts weld them right about flush with the floorpan before it drops down. the mouts towards the center will rest on the floor the outside rear mounts will also require 1 inch box tubing iff i remember correctly. i used bolt spacer off a GM quad four bellhousing (i used to work at a junkyard) but boxtubing works fine. this my friend is the easiest route. it also raises where you sit about 1.5 inches in the end. im 6'2" and ride comfortably
also for a center console that fits fight a few 97+ f150s had a separate center console from the seats. the ones that had real bucket options not the 60\40 its wide wnough to fill that hole cause you will have alot of room when your done
