Ok guys, I know this is a little off subject but, wrenching on my truck(s) is not only my hobby, its my passion, its my future really, and I have this idea for a tattoo.
I'll tell a little story here to explain why I want a 73-77 tat.
My best friend since elementary school has a 77 F150 (he's a member here, he actually introduced me to this site) and ever since me and him went riding around on his "farm" in it I've been hooked, on wrenching, ford, trucks, every aspect of the automotive field.
I just want an opinion on a tattoo idea I had, it is a 73-77 f series, looking like its facing you, and his truck at the time, had the factory rims, factory size tires, everything looked stock, and that's the way I wanna portray it.
What ya'll think? And I don't care if its a terrible comment that basically tells me I should be shot just for the thought of it. I want to hear it.
I say go for it dude. If these trucks mean that much, why the hell not. Just keep in mind what it'll look like when you hit 60.
Well, see, one thing I didn't mention, it will be on my back, I want it big enough you can see the detail in the grille, and when I'm 60, I don't plan to be pulling my shirt off in public.
Well being raised on the farm, back row baptist, and considering that I'm one of the few left that will stop for a stranded car on the road (my dd is a rolling tool shop), I think decency is just part of my place in the country.
I'm gonna ask around and see who does the best work here in town and I'll go from there. It'll be my first.
i think that is a pretty cool idea, i just hope you don't convert into a chevy lover sometime in your life but get a good idea what you want exactly cause you are stuck with it.
Tats are like trucks....you can't just have one and you always want more.
Huh...he'll probably have connecting rods on his legs next, say that's not a bad idea.
Tats are like engines and they need a tune up now and then. I dont buy the old "when your 60" stuff.
If you can walk in and get a tattoo today it's not the shop to visit. The best shops are booked 4 to 6 moths in advance some times longer. My tattoo guy is usually 8 months out.
My advice would be to wait at least 6 months before you get one. My nephew wanted a tattoo at 17 years old, my sister wouldnt let him get one. At 18 he did get one, now at 22 he regrets it. When I was a kid 30 years ago the only tattoos I recall seeing were on either war veterans, maybe an anchor on the forearm or USN or USM, or bikers. Times have changed..........
