Depends on if you're in and out of 4wd much with manual hubs. Auto hubs I'd say leave them. Those would never fly on any of my rigs in the winter time, I can tell you that much.

Durning harvest I'm in 4x4 a lot. I use manual cause I have a vac. Leak. I'm too dang lazy to go get the seal. I'm notbworried about the work. I break my hubs down twice a year to grease the bearings.
Have you thought about contacting Dick Cepek and asking if they have open versions of that hubcap?
Actually I did think of that. Yesterday the website was down then I got tied up w/ a barge. Googling it I haven't found any. Which surprised me seeing how fords stock center caps is open. Oh well I'll cut em and if it looks bad they're only $25.
