well i gave in and brought the e4od to a trans shop, that belongs to a friend he said start looking for a trans this one is shot
i said ''how can you tell''--he grabed the shaft be the pump in front and it wouldn't move,--then he said something about'--planets-- what the hell do the planets have to do with anything
any body got an e4od 4x4 laying around
Big Joe. I should have 2 complete setups by the end of next week. One that will fit the 92-up dash and on that will fit Pre 92 depending on your year of truck. Like Aune163rd said Montana is a long ways away but if i can help let me know.
I used to live 45 min from glacier and now i live 45min from yellowstone nat. park, i still haven't been there and i have lived here 7 years. Sad i know
Your missing a lot of you dont go to Yellowstone, anyway, if you want to get another E4OD, be prepared to pay some serious $$$ otherwise you can get a JY one which i wouldnt trust, or do a ZF-5/T18/T19 swap.
Honestly the E40D is so simple to rebuild the right way I would not even pay for an ATS unit. Once you understand the tricks to making these heavy duty units it will cost you about 400.00 in parts and about 350 for a good torque converter and it will last a long time. I have done it 4 times now with great results!
tthe tranny shop replaced some stuff, behind the water pump, replaced the seal & bushing again, put it all back in and -----it moved foward & back-didn[t take it on the road yet . but the seal didn't blow yet
