Im thinking of painting it the same tan color I painted my headliner, possibly put vinyl on the bottom half. The cup holders and "sundries tray" will be one piece made of glass so I have an access panel, allowing me to screw it to the floor. About to go cut the holes for that...

I really didn't mean it to be taken like that. But i was thinking about doing that when I first got my high boy but that was what stood in my way. Now if you had buckets that would be a different story. My plan? Grab some seats outta newer chevy suv. I was in a Yukon the other day and the middle seat looked perfect. It was still a bench, leather, and had an armrest that doubled as cup holders

Now theres an idea! I needed something to fill the empty space above the tray. Thanks! Ill mold a glass part for that too. How do you mount one like this: Victor/Cigarette lighter well (225054108) | Universal Cigarette Lighter | AutoZone.com And how many amps should I fuse it for?
Oh, consider a powerport with a plug or cap. Ya wouldn't want a stray piece of metal (like a paperclip) accidently falling in there. Bzzzt!
Fuse? Size it for, let's say, a handheld spot light.

If I recall correctly, those lighter plug's outer body is separate. The main part is inserted through the front and the casing is threaded or clipped on fron the back. It's made to sandwich sheetmetal so the MDF is gonna be waaay too thick. How about making an alumimum faceplate? Hit with 220 or 400 wet/dry and then clear coat it.

Just for general ideas, if you are mounting more gauges, this was the original console I had made for my 57, I didn't want to butcher the dash. Thin MDF panels on a metal frame, brushed stainless face panels.
That's a B&M Z-gate shifter, various gauges and indicator lamps for electric fuel pump, ignition, oil pressure, linelock, etc. There is an LED floorlight on each side of the console, can't see because the seat is blocking the view. All top and side panels are individually removable for access without having to remove the entire console.
After my F150, I'm going back to gut/upgrade the interior with leather, the console will be re-done with fiberglass and leather accents.

For cupholders I've used things like this in the past. Cheap and easy. Lots of colors and sizes available on eBay and other spots online.
