How do you know, are you an ant?

That ant jazz is a 1940's Gene Autry quote. He said that about Herbert Yates, a well known cheapskate and the owner of Republic Pictures.

It's not Fritz the cat, it's Fritz the FTE member, known hereabouts as "The Masked Rider."

And, what do ants (or uncles), Gene Autry have to do with mercury switches?

I'll post a pic in a few minutes but that's not a switch for the underhood light. It's the ambient temp sensor for emission controls/ A/C system.

Take a look-see at that parts catalog ref, the part looks exactly the same as the one in the photograph, so it's the same puppy.

This does not look like the part in the photograph, the underhood light does.

19618 = A/C Evaporator Temperature Control Thermostat.

What does this have to do with emissions?

My guess.

Light sensor so that underhood light does NOT come on when ambient says it'a already light outside? Still have the mercury switch attached to hood with light.
