Can't Reach Full Throttle on 300 I6
I have a '86 f150 with the 300 c.i.d. I picked up in March that has had the original feedback carb replaced with a single barrel Carter. I have since done a Duraspark II conversion however the original throttle cable and bracket does not allow me to get full throttle. I don't have an aggressive driving style so this does not effect my routine driving but it seems to be causing problems with setting the choke. Will the cable bracket and cable from a Duraspark truck fix this problem?
Also wondered how I could plug the hole in the firewall that the wiring harness that went to the computer used to go through. I called Ford and they no longer make the grommet that plugged this (part EN E3DZ 14603 A).

I finally got around to working on the sticky accelerator pedal. I ended up replacing the cable and clearing out the rubber flooring from under the pedal and that has pretty much fixed my problem.
However, whenever I cold start the truck I know that the choke is not setting. The truck will start ok since its fairly warm outside but I will need a working choke for winter driving. Are there any things that I can check or adjust on the choke to try and get it working properly?

If your carb has the large round black piece on the side of it, you can loosen the screws and turn this to adjust the choke. Some of them have "richer" and "leaner" with arrows embossed on the side. Also, some of them were pop-riveted in place to keep you from messing with it. If the carb has been rebuilt, these are drilled out and have screws in their place.
