for a while now my truck has had a slight surge in idle whether it be warm, cold, recently started, or been running for hours. its noticeable in park or neutral. I unplugged ICP, no change. Here is a vid of the tach i took a while ago, and never got around to posting.
but with the chip in, it exaggerates it surging. doubles to triples it, and when the idle drops low, it puffs smoke. idk if this is the same problem, just exaggerated, or an additional issue with the chip. i have a vid of the tach w the chip, but i left my phone at work, il post it tomorrow.
also, i have an hpop guage, and it is similar to the tach, hpop moves up and down slightly.
i changed the oil recently and i think it surged before and after the cps recall iirc
any thoughts?
thanks
edit: if you use google chrome, photobucket doesn't seem to work
I don't have your order in front of me (it's 2000 miles away at the moment) but do you have an aftermarket HPOP?
That rolling idle is due to the IPR duty cycle map not matching closely enough to what is actually required to maintain the desired ICP.
Regardless of what pump you have, those calibrations need some tweaking as obviously the hybrids require a different duty cycle to maintain a specific ICP for those injectors.
no, its stock /: its up in the works, haven't gotten there yet. I have a list of things i need to do, im just trying to pick the best order to do them in.
Thanks Cody
Well it's a good thing that you don't have to send that chip back for a reburn. Unfortunately certain trucks take quite a bit of "massaging" to get just right in the IPR department....but we'll get you handled.
on another note, what kind of pressures should i see from the hpop at wot. with out the chip it maxes at about 33-34, but w the chip i hit 4000psi does that seem right? it seems rather high imo. i think i can hit 4000psi before wot iirc. i have the autometer gauge that just splices inter the stock harness.
I recently found i had a burnt pin in the harness to the vc gasket. it must be a new issue because it was not there at the time of injector/chip install. its the driver side front plug, and the pin furthest forward. does anyone know if that is a glow plug or if thats for an injector solenoid, and if it is an inj sol, would that at all cause the idle issue described above ?
