ZF transmission data plate

Just making sure: is this a transmission that will bolt up to a 4.9L 4x4?

Can't tell from the plate. What motor was in front of it originally?

Also, if this tranny is from a 92-96 2wd truck, it won't have the mechanical speedo output that an earlier 2wd truck needs.

That is a 4x4 or 4x2 F-superduty ZF for a Powerstroke DIT diesel. It will not work in your truck.

Wow, I'm glad I learned this now and not AFTER paying to have it rebuilt! I say again, thanks Eric!!! (the guy at the junkyard thought it would fit the 4.9L)

i have a zf s542 thatll fit a 460 if your lookin for a big block fit

Good news, the junkyard guy found the *right* transmission in another part of the room. I'll check it out Friday and run the numbers against that catalog!
