351M and 400

Does anyone know the difference between the <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">351m </a>and <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">400 </a>besides stroke? Will everything from a <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/"><a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">351m </a></a>bolt up (powersteering and alternator brackets) are most of the internal parts the same? Thank you for your time.

The 400 and the <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">351m </a>are the exact same block.

The 73 400 block has the small block tranny bolt pattern and will not interchange where a regular 400 or 351m sat unless you swap tranny bellhousings.

Some, not all '73 blocks use the small block bolt pattern. The ones that do have the small pattern also have the flange area for the Big pattern. So all that needs to be done is drill and tap new holes. See,
