Hey fellas,
I'm looking at getting a bed for my 86 F150 shortbed. A local yard has a 93 flareside bed for sale without the tailgate...it's sold already. Through research of other threads I'm pretty sure I'm SOL until I find one in a junkyard. I was able to look at a budy's 94 F150 flareside and noticed the latch was on the inside of the bed...and it looks weird. How would you open the latch with a bed full of mulch? Is it possible it's a Bronco tailgate or something? I have absolutely no idea...
I have been determined to get a cool flareside...but if tailgates are next to impossible to find, a standard shortbed will have to do.
And you shouldn't put any 8th/9th Gen. ('87-96) bed on a 7th Gen. ('80-86). The wheel cut-outs in the fenders are mad different, It would look like crap.
