mine just hit 100k 2 weeks ago (99 F-250LD 5.4) havent had any problems so far)!!! i was thinking about selling it 100k scares me.... everyone has been telling me once u hit 100k on these engines start saving up to replace it in the near future.... hopefully there wrong
My truck has really run good. I've had it since new so I know the history and have taken good care of it. I think these things have much more than 100k miles in them but if you buy it at 75k it's hard to know how the previous owner used and maintained the truck. I think that has a lot to do with how far and trouble free you can expect your truck to take you. If you've had it a long time and kept it well maintained then I think selling at 100k would leave a lot of miles still on the table. My wife has an 03 Exped/5.4 with 120k and she has had fewer issues than I did at that point. Two of my sons friends each have F150's about the same age as mine and both those are showing about 175k on the odometer. They haven't had theirs since new and probably bought them with 100k+ on them. If they were getting hammered with repairs, being teenagers they couldn't afford to keep them. They seem to be happy. We've all had good success with ours.
