Roof rack rails

Roof rack rails
I have all my cross bars off the roof so I'm asking about the two rails that run down each side of the roof. Do these just unscrew from the roof for removal or are they siliconed/glued as well? Mine are peeled badly and in need of a serious make over. Thanks.

Roof Rack
I removed all my roof rack and put a little drop of silicone in the bolt holes and replaced the bolts. I love the way a complete roof rack delete looks. They were not adhesived on.
