Just got my Ex a few weeks ago and I am in the process of fixing some of the neglected parts and pieces.
I do a lot of driving at night in unlit country roads and am in the process of installing driving and distance lights (for those really dark roads). The truck was already wired for a set of KC slim lights and I'm thinking I'll just stick with them for the distance lights. However, I'm thinking about adding a set of street legal driving/fog lights too. I don't want to add another after market switch to the dash so I got to thinking about how easy/hard it would be to swap in one of the later switches that controlled the OE fog lights and headlights. If possible I'd like to have it function like the later OE lights. Pull to turn on and automatically turn off with high beams. If it's going to be too big a PITA I won't bother but, I'm willing to put in some reasonable work on it.
That's what I was hoping to hear. Any idea how they tie into the hi/lo beam switch? I'm trying to track down a wiring diagram. I'd love to do this with as many stock parts as possible.
There's a diode on the power side to the relay so I'm thinking the relay is switched off when the high beam indicator recieves power. One terminal of the relay is spliced to the indicator circuit.
