Ok So I know this is goign to sound wierd but ill try my best to describe:
My truck has always sounded like a vacum at idle (Turbo sound) and i could hit the high idle switch and it will build 1lb of boost. When I drive it it was always instant boost.
Now it idles like a regular V8 (no Vacum sound at all) If I put on the High Idle.. No boost. When I go to drive it, feels sluggish for a few seconds and then builds boost around 1800-2200 RPM and drives normal.
Anyone have any Ideas? Im getting ready for my second half of the trip (cali to Alaska) and dont want any problems... Mods are listed in my signature.
Sounds like your EBP sensor and/or tube is plugged. By the way, that high idle mod is great if used in moderation. Excessive use, and you will still plug up your EGR, EBP etc...
I only use the high idle if I need it to warm up a little faster, or if im running into the store really quick. other than that i really dont use it that much.
Ill take off the tube and clean it once I return from my little mini vacation with the kids. Ill keep everyoen posted on the results/ findings.
I only use the high idle if the engine is cold or if its below freezing outside. Idling on an 85 or 90 degree summer day won't cause wet stacking and even when it is cold enough, the problem is really only when you shut the truck off immediately after a long idle.
