How in the world do you change the plugs on the passenger side of the motor? I could get to the drivers side ones fine, but the other side has too much stuff around it to get to. None of it looks really easy to remove. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Try removing your tire and up under your fender well, usually makes my changes easier . Had my fender wells off for a manifold gasket upgrade what a pain( even with the extra space) good luck TR
When I did mine, I layed under the truck, right next to the tire and reached up into the gap and got the last one. The rest I did from the top. It wasn't too hard!!
I'll give it another try tomorrow but I can't seem to get any of them on that side from the top. I was thinking that taking the wheel and fender well off would be about the only way to get to them. What a pain. Makes me wonder when the last time anyone went through the trouble of changing them was though so I guess I had better work on it. Thanks for the suggestions.
I replaced my plugs a little over a month ago, for the passenger side I used an extension and a wobblie. I have been able to get the back plug out on the passenger side from the top, but like bronco351 said it is easier from underneath the truck. Just take your time

Yours must have a lot less stuff in the way because I can't even get my hand in there from the top to remove the plug wires. Let alone have any room for a tool with all the A/C and junk that is in the way.
I'm surprised that you can't get to them from the top. It's tight, but I think you should be able to get to them, unless you have something different going on.
With mine i can reach them, but with the headers I have it's a pain to get them in and out. For two of the cylinders I can get a spark plug socket onto the sparkplug, but can't get a ratchet with an extension, wobbley or anything like that into the actual socket. So I end up using a wrench on the spark plug socket itself. Sometimes I have to go from underneath the truck with a wrench to tighten the farthest sparkplug in the back!
Does anybody know or have any headers that have easy access to the spark plugs?
I recently did a tune up on a late 80's ford motorhome. The passengers side rear plug was impossible to get to so I used my die grinder and cut a hole in the inner fender and low and behold I pulled a motorcraft plug out of the hole..ORIGINAL PLUG the rest were autolites. No wonder he was having problems...lol
That is why I want to get them changed. As hard as they are to get to I am worried about when they were changed last. I will try again to get in there tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions.
