302 fuel setup problems
I have a 302 with an edelbrock performer series 600 cfm carb. I heard that edelbrocks are sensitive to fuel pressure and my engine floods a little at low rpms. The holly 97gph red label fuel pump that is supposed to put out 7psi. I have just put on a new pressure regulator and pressure gauge and now I can't adjust the pressure because the gauge reads ~3psi. Even after the gauge was hooked up directly after the pump and it still read ~3. I am not sure at this point if it is my gauge, regulator setup, or pump that is screwing things up. I hope the pictures work and someone can tell me that I have done something stupid. Anyone tried a fuel setup like this?

Finally figured it out but I was slow to posting the solution. Turns out that liquid filled gauges that are supposed to be mounted on the engine are sensitive to heat. So while it looks like the pressure is falling to zero as the engine/pump warms up it is actually the gauge failing. I finally did enough google searches to find this out and took an ice back to cool it down while the engine was running and bingo, it gave correct readings. So, stay away from the cheap liquid filled gauges.
