Because I've been thinking about it, has anyone here done a thorough interior restoration? I'm talking about sound liner, new carpet, upholstery, etc...
I've put the sound liner on the floor of my truck and found a sale on ebay a year or so ago from a custom shop in CA that had pulled the XLT seat covers off brand new trucks and done a conversion. I got the new seat covers for cheap and they still smelled new. I ordered my truck with the rubber floor so I have no comments on carpet.
What exactly is your question? None of it is that hard to do.
My question is an inquisitive one. I'm looking for input on different ideas for the interior. Also, helpful recommendations from people who have done it before. Thanks to you guys who have commented.
Speaking of sound deadening, did it make a big difference in quieting the engine noise? Also, has anyone gotten interior parts from LMC?
When I do my auto to manual swap, I'm thinking about dressing up the interior at the same time, because I figure I'll have it most of the way apart anyway. Consider me subscribed to this one for ideas.
I like the idea of rubber floors. What do you guys think about them versus carpet?

I wish I had them... two of my buddies got em and when we mud...or work...or toss shtuff in the cab..we dont have to worry about it ruining anything... or gettin it dirty. You get that rubber flooring and you can get those thick rubber mats to lay down too. They look awesome and work great.
Stupid carpet...
I have not done the sound deading but have thought about it. Hopefully some one who has done it will let us know how it worked and how extensive they went as far as the floor, roof, etc. My carpet is in good condition but if it was not I would look at rubberizing the floor.
Last year I was lucky enough to find conversion Captains chairs out of a duelly that were like new and my Beautiful dark red color. Pics are in the link in my sig if you are interested.

Only way to go in my opinion. I've had carpet before. My last 2 trucks I've ordered with the carpet delete option.

Yes it makes a difference to you if you drive the truck every day. You're used to the sounds so you'll notice the difference. It's not what I would call a drastic reduction, but one that is noticeable. It does nothing for road noise coming off the tires. I've done the floor, back wall and inside the doors of both mine & the wife's truck. Adding a couple of layers behind the speakers helps the sound system too.
Here's the wife's truck
And then a layer of the foam pad they sell before the carpet was put back in (she likes the carpet)
I have considered this myself. I would love to do the entire inside of my truck it is pretty loud with the tunes I have.
I recently stripped the entire interior out of a reg cab grey color. I also have the trans hump from a 5 speed and I think I even have the rubber mat out of it too just in case somebody is interested.
