I am almost $1200 dollars down and can find no solution to fuse 19 under hood blowing. Stupid stealership robs me and nothing is fixed. I took apart the column and replaced the rubbed shifter wires already (yes it was rubbed through). My husband took apart the tranny and checked the torque converter solenoid thing because that's what that fuse controls and without it it's like I have no power and no gears other than first. He disconnected that wiring harness all the way back up right beside the fuse box and the fuse still blows immediately when u turn over the key. Where could the short be I can't find it please someone tell me how to get my baby on the road again!

Thats going to be a tough one cause that fuse also powers the PATS, GEM, Idle switch, instrument cluster, OD switch and the shift solenoids. I would recheck the wiring in the column again. Check all the red/yellow wires, those are all connected to fuse 19. Also check the fuse box for water damage which seems to be a common problem. Hope you have a good wiring diagram.
It has rained here since October so I doubt it's water damage. My owners manual says that it only controls the torque solenoid thing and the hego system which I believe is the o2 sensors
I have a Chilton (spelling?) but it doesn't tell me **** I need to know about wiring. Where can I get a shop manual? I need these things! Well we checked under the dash and all around under there we couldn't find any wires that were disconnected, rubbed through or anything else. My fear is that since it was giving all the signs of the shifter rubbing problem (od light flashing and lost all power, and blowing fuse 19 that when it shorted it maybe melted or shorted out something else? I mean I did replace the shifter immediately but that doesn't mean it couldn't have done more damage when it did that right? I am no electrician so I have no idea how it works but I'm thinking that maybe something else got cooked. Is that possible?
Okay I Was wiggling the wires off the o2 sensors trying to find where they went and now I musta moved something because I am no longer blowing the fuse. But now when I drive all is well until I need to get into third or overdrive and hen the of light starts blinking and it can't switch. Please note we did tear into the tranny to check the solenoid but hubby says he knows he did not mess anything up.
