power window problem
my passenger side window is stuck down, It wont come up at all from either the driver switch or the passenger switch.
I swapped the passenger side switch with on from my wife's expedition just to check and had no luck.
I checked the fuse under the hood and it was fine as well.
My Haynes book only says to check the circuit breaker, but does not say which one. It also says to check the voltage at the motor, but I have no idea how to do that.
one other note, I can hear a slight click in the door when I push the switch from either side.
Is there any way to crank the window manually? I only drive this truck back and forth to work and don't really care if the passenger window rolls down or not.
thanks, I absolutely LOVE this forum. I've found ways to fix minor annoyances over and over again here and it has always saved me $ and aggravation.

It sounds to me like the window motor is shot and will have to be replaced.
Sometimes, but not often, you can press the up button while pulling the window up with your hand to get it started. If it goes up leave it there

Otherwise you can maybe remove the door panel and unbolt the motor, pull the window back up to the top and then reinstall the motor to hold it there. To get at the bolts that hold the motor on there are three dimples in the door that you drill out with a large bit to fit a socket through. If you remove the panel you should be able to see what I'm talking about.
As we were pulling out, my wife hit the button and the dang thing just went up. Just like that!!!
We started talking and recalled that the same exact thing happened on her 99 Expedition last year.
I was out of town and she tried boogering with it and I really thought she had changed a fuse. She tells me she didn't do a single thing to it except pop the panel off and put it back on.
strange stuff. Thanks for your reply though.
I'm just gonna leave the darn window up for awhile.
thanks
