46 glass going in. Need some pointers.
Dad finally got his glass for 46. I know some of you guys has done this and I was wondering if any of you have any pointers on doing this. As far as the windshield and back glass I know its going to be easier than the doors. We still have to get the door glass out and thats what Im more concerned about. There is not alot of room to get your hands in there to work. So if you guys have any pointers or know of any good article's that I can look up I'd love to hear them or read them. Thanks for any help. Scott

Here's some simple instructions..
Throughout the procedure, never let the window go more than about 2/3rd's of the way down. Always hold onto (from above) or support the window (thru the access panel)
1. Remove access panel from inside door
2. Wind down window so the horizontal rail is centered in the access door.
3. Remove the screws holding the window crank mechanism, and then push the mechanism back into the door while holding onto the window.
4. Slide the rollers attached to the mechanism off of the window rail to the front and back. (hang onto the window through the door opening (where the window is when it's closed), not access door). You may have to crank the window mechanism a bit to get it to clear and be removed.
5. Remove the crank mechanism via the access door.
6. Now hold the window at the rear side (front side is the curved portion) in the door opening. Gently push down on the curved portion (while holding onto the back) to release it from the front track. While still holding onto the window at the back, allow it to turn 90 degrees into the door.
7. Lift the window up through the door opening to the outside of the vehicle.
Additional note: The bottom bar (on the glass) is held on to the upper frame by two screws with special sleeve nuts.
First one is tricky... second one is no sweat !
