99 f150 trans problem, advice?
Hello all.
99 f 150, 2 WD, auto, 180 K miles. Yesterday, trans would flare (free rev) from a stop. Never did it before. Changed the fluid & filter today and same happened. Pan had some goop in it.
Is there anything else I can look at? Reverse works good. Second seems much better than first gear. It just seems to slip and lurch. Gosh, I need to keep this thing going as I am replacing it soon but I don't want to dump a ton of money in it now.
If anyone has any suggestions or ideas I would appreciate it. Thank you.
