My seat has an intermittent problem with the front to back motor. I drive with the seat as far back as possible. Today the wife needed to drive and the seat would not adjust forward.

I pulled the seat, cleaned up the gear drive and channel, greased and re-installed the seat. It worked fine for one cycle then quit. I let it sit for a couple minutes and it worked then quit.

I think there is a limit switch that will shut the motor off when it hits the forward or rear stop.
I suspect this switch is weak and needs to be replaced (If it can).
I looked through the wiring diagrams in the technical section but didn't find a break down for the seat.

Autozone has the factory diagrams. I looked on my 2001 dvd at a f150, and it doesn't show any limit switches. They just show the control switches going straight to the motors but they do show the power going through what looks like a thermal overload device in series with each motor, like a self resetting circuit breaker of some sort.

I think the thermal overload becomes the limit switch when the seat hits full travel. Un-fortunately I think all of that is built into the motor. I will run up to Auto Zone and see if I can figure anything out. I think I will have to change the base assembly to repair.

You say you are going to "run up to Autozone". I hope you are not going to the store, you have to go to their website. Sorry about that if you wasted a trip.

Go to their site and register. Then plug in your vehicle, and click on repair guides and then wiring diagrams.
