Steering wheel interchangeability
A friend of mine (who is a 3hr drive away or I would just go check) has a 64 meteor sitting in the bush that I remember has a steering wheel that appeared very similar to an original 64-66 f100s

Not the same, but the following are.
All these use a horn brush & insulator (C2OZ-13A821-A), fits into the outside of the steering wheel below the horn ring or horn button. The horn ring or button is retained to the wheel w/a 3 eared nylon retainer (C2DZ-12A809-A).
But not vehicles have this set-up, so if you use a wheel from something else, not only won't the horn blow, but the horn button or ring won't fit the steering wheel.
There are two types of the nylon retainers, the correct one is flat, the in-correct one has a shoulder on it.
The Bronco's use a different horn ring. The others use basically the same one, but there were variations: Some have different emblems, some have emblems that are part of the ring/button, cannot be replaced.
Thru 1967, the ring or button is chrome, 1968/70, these parts were painted flat argent to cut down on glare. There is NO chrome under that argent paint....found that out the hard way.

I bought a new horn ring in 1970, stripped off a bit of the paint...no chrome underneath.
btw: In Canada AFAIK, Meteors were full sized cars. In the US 1962/63: The mid-sized Mercury Meteor was Mercury's version of the Ford Fairlane.
