1949 F6 Almost Guaranteed
July 28th, 2012, we delivered my '50 F6 dumptruck to it's new rightful owner, and continued on to get my uncle's '49 F6 that I've been meaning to get for a number of years now. It all went without a hitch.
First loaded up the '50 at my house outside TH:
Then dropped it off in Chisolm at a friend's place (where the sedan waits for me).
Next we continued up past I-Falls to my uncle's farm, and loaded the '49:
Then headed back, stopping along the way, as the truck driver friend WTB a military trailer for sale. The guy had an IH mobile crane to lift it up and onto my truck frame on the rollback, lol:
Finally got to Two Harbors for gas, I was running on fumes. Had my first admirers ask about it:
It was too dark to take a pic of it unloaded, so I did the next morning:
And now the fun begins. This is my build thread. The non-stock V8 will come out, and will be rebuilt for my F1, which is partly why that has taken forever. It's an EAB headed, C8BA aluminum intaked (thanks, Ross), bronzish color V8 with the wrong waterpumps and 3 blade fan. It does turn over, though! I have a cracked 8BA block that will donate the waterpumps and other goodies. The flat 6 I have will be put in this truck which it was originally made with. It looks like it needs a rebuild, but we'll see if it works.... I have my doubts. That said, I'd like to find a 254 flat 6. The T98 from the donor F6 will be used. The wheels are a miriad of lockring 20's, and WM's, and they are all pretty rusted. The rear is a 2sp. and will be retained. The rest will remain stock, with the color being changed to a dark green (like the 2000's GMC's) and use my Ford script flatbed, which will be completely rebuilt and modified to accept a gooseneck hitch, and if possible a "tilt and lower" like a poor-man's rollback, so I can drive my tractor onto it.
I should have it all done by next Sunday.

congrats on finally getting her home, Looks like a Nice solid start too.
Before your next big road trip come accross the hall and grab this 254 I've got sitting here. I havent touched it since I picked it up. one of these days I plan on cleaning it up a little and seeing how it runs> Never enough time in a day is there
So you sold the 50 F-6? I must not have been following along very well. You know how I sometimes just blankly stare out the window...

It would help us all if you painted a big scoreboard on the garage - What you have - What you had - What you want - - You get the idea
Then maybe we can place bets on what will get finished first - What will show up
Sorry to see the Dump go, but the F6 cab and chassis look good
Keep us posted

The shop truck, '54 R100, would be the first to be finished since it already runs.
Which Ford? well, that's what the dart board's for, lol.
