just acquired a 300 to replace the 240 i have in my 67 f100 and was wondering if i need to run all the emissions stuff on it or if there is a way to take it all off? any tips or info would be greatly appreciated
The emission laws of the state in which you reside determine what you need on your vehicle. However, I believe you stated the vehicle is a '67?
I live in Cal. where the laws are strict. But here any vehicle older than 76 is exempt from emissions. Go online and check with your DMV. I would guess that you are exempt.
The private site you linked to conflicts with the state site link in the previous post. The state site says you are exempt prior to '96, except vehicles id'd as tampered....??? What's up with that, I wonder.
The site I linked to is the DMV's website says vehicles newer then 68 in
Kenosha
Milwaukee
Ozaukee
Racine
Sheboygan
Washington
Waukesha
counties must be inspected when registration is renewed. It list the counties so state law exempts vehicles older then 96 and in some counties the local ordinance will require vehicles between 68-96 to be inspected, vehicles older then 68 are exempt throughout the state. The DMV site deals with both state and county ordinances DOT just list the state laws no the local. I don't know if the guy lives in a county that requires inspections on 68-96 vehicles or not but he owns a 67 so he doesn't have to worry about it.
Just to be clear, the site you linked to is a private company, not the State of WI site. Note the ".org" vs. ".gov". Plus it says at the top they are a private site....
I looked further. There was a program change in 2008. 1995 and older exempt:
